We figured, since it was Sunday and it was early there wouldn't be very many people there. There were a few other families with kids around Mikey's age, so apparently they had the same idea. Anyways, we picked a row with no one else in it that had the handicap gate on one side so we were able to close him in. He was able to stand up and pull on the seats in front of us (since no one was sitting there) without irritating anyone or escaping. We got a big bag of popcorn and gave Mikey his own little cup (which he loved) so that he could devour and move around as he pleased. The previews seemed to last FOREVER...probably 20 minutes of them. Mikey made it about 50 minutes of the 120 minute movie which isn't bad. I was actually pretty impressed. When he was ready to go he looked at me and signed that he was all done. I was able to keep him quiet and entertained for about 10 more minutes before he decided he wanted to run around like a wild man. We took him outside the theater and let him run for a bit before ultimately deciding to just go home rather than try to get him back in.
All in all it was a pretty good experience and I am proud of him for doing so well. We will probably try again next weekend if we don't go out on the boat. Hopefully he will do just as well or better!
