Tulsa Trip/Hartley's Party

On Friday we drive up to Tulsa with some friends.  We went up to go to Mikey's friend, Hartley's, birthday party and also to get out of Lawton.  Since we have room for everyone in "the mothership" we decided to carpool with some friends to save a little bit of money on gas and tolls.  We got kind of a late start on Friday because our A/C broke and no one felt the need to come fix it until 4.  Good thing it was only 100 degrees out.  Anyways, we got up just in time to scarf down some dinner and get the munchkins to bed.  

Since the birthday party wasn't until 3 on Saturday we decided to take the kiddos to the Tulsa Children's Museum.  It wasn't anything like Marbles, but it was only $5 for adults and kids under 2 we free so it was $10 well spent.  There was a giant tape tunnel that was pretty cool and some fun things that shoot balls.  The kids had an awesome time and were completely worn out after running around.  for a couple of hours.  For more information on the Tulsa Children's Museum click HERE.

road trip buddies

We took off about an hour before the party started to head on over.  One of Sam's family members owns this cool little gym that has a moon bounce and party room, its perfect for a kid's birthday party!  It was a Bubble Guppies theme, so we got everything set up to look like we were underwater.  It was really cute!

We decided to get Hartley some trains for her birthday since she and Mikey always fight over his trains when they play.  They were a huge success!  She kept asking to open the trains and Mikey had a giant meltdown because he wanted them.  I wanted to high five myself :-)  I got a text yesterday saying that Hartley was sitting having a tea party with her trains, so I think we made the right choice! 

We took off right about the time the kiddos were about to pass out from exhaustion.  Violet fell asleep in the car for a short time just to be woken up by Mikey being loud.  The rest of the trip home was a tag-team effort to serenade us with screams, yells, and cries to be freed from the carseat.  We finally arrived just after bed time.  Mikey crashed and slept in until 9!  It was a nice little getaway followed by some good rest!
