Since the intention of this blog is really to document Mikey's milestones, I figured I should probably update.
Last week Mikey started swimming alone with his floaty thing. Prior to this he would swim if I would hold his hands of the back of the floaty, but not alone. Last week he just pushed off the steps and swam, he was so excited, it was adorable. He also started jumping off the side of the pool to me. The child has no fear.
Within the past month he really started going to town on his balance bike. He won't balance on it yet, but he pretty much runs with it and steers it. He also has gotten obsessed with it. He will go and pick up his helmet (because he knows he has to wear it to ride) and grabs the bike.
Right now Mikey signs "please", "thank you", "more", "milk", "eat", and "all done". His verbal words are still pretty limited. He says "mama", "dada", "cracker", "oh no", "car", "choo choo", "yeah yeah yeah yeah", "George", and will say "meow" and "moo" if you ask him what the respective animals say. Sometimes he will tell you what a duck and fish say too. He doesn't like to be asked to say words, he will look at you and give you the toddler version of the middle finger.
He knows where his feet, hands, hair, teeth, mouth, ears, neck, bellybutton, eyes, nose, knees, and armpits are.
He can count to 5 by showing you fingers if you say the numbers.
He understands basically everything and will follow instructions (if he wants to). He brought me my phone from the other room today when he heard me get a text message!
He's super into girls, he gets excited to see them and flirts BIG TIME!
He is sleeping in a real person bed now! AHHH!
His favorite books are "I love Monkey", "Goodnight Moon", "Brown Bear, Brown Bear", "I'll Love You Forever", and "Fingers, Fingers, Thumb, Thumb"
He got himself completely naked for the first time today.
He actually enjoys going on runs with me.
His favorite foods are pasta, rice, chicken, turkey, oranges, blueberries, pineapple, and zucchini.
His favorite shows are Curious George, Thomas, and Chuggington.
He takes 1 nap that is usually 2 hours and sleeps from about 8pm until about 8am.
