3 Year Anniversary

Brian and I celebrated 3 years of marriage last night.  We had such a wonderful time, especially because we got to do it OUTSIDE of Oklahoma.  We are currently visiting Brian's parents in California for his post-deployment block leave and his mother apparently hinted to him that he should plan something special for us to do.  He completely surprised me.  I expected a nice dinner and maybe a few drinks, but the thought that he put into this definitely shocked the socks off me.

Yesterday, we hopped in the car around lunchtime and headed into San Francisco (its about 45 minutes from his parents house.  When we got there we checking into the Marines Memorial Hotel, which is a very cute hotel that has a lot of history about the Marine Corps in it.  Its located right on Nob Hill in Union Square where there is a ton of money and cute shopping.  We got there early enough that we could walk around a little bit, so we headed up a massive hill and checked out a few hotels that we are too poor to even breath near.  Then we headed over to Grace Cathedral and took a mini tour.  It was absolutely stunning inside.  There were wall to wall murals and breath taking stained glass windows.

When we were done in the Cathedral we headed back to the hotel to get ready for our hot date.  We started out by going to the top floor of the hotel to have drinks at the Leatherneck during happy hour.  It was a cute little bar/restaurant and the staff was so friendly.  After a few cocktails we headed down the street about two blocks to the restaurant where Brian had made reservations.  Bourbon Steak House was located in the Westin, which was another stunning hotel.  The service was wonderful, the steak even better.  I was so sad that I couldn't eat all of my steak because it was one of the best steaks I had ever eaten, but it was HUGE.  We finished up dinner just in time to catch a cab down to Golden Gate Theater and see a Broadway play.  Brian got us damn near close to front and dead center seats at the show, Anything Goes.  It was really cute and funny...and having such awesome seats made it even better.  The music and dancing was also pretty phenomenal.  I was thoroughly impressed with Brian's planning!

Happy 3 years! (Please excuse the overstuffed cow look...I can never seem to take a good anniversary picture)

Today, we woke up and got our things packed up to leave.  We found a cute little restaurant called Persimmon to have brunch at that had huge and scrumptious omelets.  After that we grabbed the car and drove around San Francisco taking pictures.  It was an absolutely awesome anniversary!  Thank you Brian!!!

I love all the housing in SF
